Exam Pattern of SSC CGL

Tire - I

There will be 100 Questions in 4 sections. Each question will carry 2 marks which make a total of 200 marks.

Note

• One wrong answer to a question will deduct 1/4 marks from the total of all sections.

Tire - II

Note

• For visually handicapped candidates the exam duration is 2 hour 40 minutes.
• One wrong answer to a question will deduct 1/4 marks from the total of all sections.
• Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts.
• Paper-III of Tier-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General, India (M/o Home Affairs) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
• In Tier-II, Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who are short listed in Tier-I for Paper-IV i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Tire - III

Note : For visually handicapped candidates the exam duration is 1 hour 20 minutes.

Tire - IV

Data Entry Speed Test - In this test, the candidates are given the printed material in English which they should type accurately on a computer with a minimum of 2000 key depressions. The duration of this test is 15 minutes.

Computer Proficiency Test - SSC will hold computer proficiency test in three modules - Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides. Computer proficiency test for the posts of Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA & AFHQ, Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer) & Inspector (Examiner) in CBIC.
