tips and tricks OF THE DAY

  • Ex: A manufacturer sells an article to a wholesale dealer at a profit of 10%. The wholesale dealer sells it to a shopkeeper at 20% profit. The shopkeeper sells it to a customer for Rs 56100 at a loss of 15%. Then the cost price of the article to the manufacturer is -
    (A) Rs.25000
    (B) Rs.10000
    (C) Rs.50000
    (D) Rs.55000
    Trick:
    Let cost price of the article to the manufacture be Rs x
    Cost price of the article to the whole seller = 110/100 * X = Rs 1.1 x
    Cost price of the article to the shop keeper = 120/100 * 1.1 X = Rs 1.32x
    56100 = 1.32x × 85/100,
    x = Rs.50000
